Do cats suffer from personality disorders?

This is Weenus (Oliver)
He is my Mom & Sister Dana's cat.
He is about 6 Years old.

He is Not Friendly unless he wants to eat.
The only companionship he shows is by sitting in the same room as you.
He is a fussy eater and will destroy things when he is upset.

Sometimes, on an off chance he decides to be cuddly... he will come over and sit on your lap or act very happy to be pet.
He will usually allow you to be near him and show love for about 3 mins until he decides this was NOT what he wanted and he gently bites you, meows and walks away.

Is Weenus suffering from a personality disorder?
What is it that changes his mind and why does he have to bite when he is done being affectionate?

Another BIG Miss by 7-Eleven's Marketing Deptartment

Does 7-Eleven even have a Marketing Department?

Preface: The reason I Hate 7-Eleven so very much is because I actually love it. 7-Eleven supplies me DAILY with my favorite coffee ever. I easily spend $100 per month at 7-Eleven alone. Therefore, I spend $1200 annually at 7-Eleven... but what I am going to write in this blog-post should earn me a free lifetime supply of coffee (at least).

Now that 7-Eleven has teamed up with popular Japanese character Domo, they are pissing me off even more. Where is the online marketing for this limited time campaign? Did anyone at the corporate offices in Dallas, Texas research Domo before deciding to team up with this cute little mascot of Japanese television?

The campaign involves limited time Domo Coffee Cups, Slurpee cups, straws, brownies, hot dog holders, and so much more. The campaign is getting a huge amount of FREE press online that spreads from Gear Blogs to Foodie blogs to Toy Blogs and much much more...

The biggest factor of this campaign is the Fuji Frost which is the Domo inspired Slurpee which really just Fanta Apple which is ANOTHER big miss....

Slurpees are FAMOUS. It is a WELL BRANDED name. They are the signature drink of 7-Eleven! The Simpsons helped make these deliciously refreshing icy drinks insanely popular... The Simpsons used to be the BIGGEST kids show on TV but the original viewership grew older and surprisingly it seems like the trendy chilly drinks' appeal started to melt.... but WHY!! There is always going to be a market for people who want cold drinks with 65 grams of sugar in it!

So let's do the math.. We have a Insanely popular kids character, Domo and we have a famous icy beverage in a flavor that is sought after far and wide.. This could be HUGE.. however Slurpee.com is broken and there in ZERO functionality. It demands for the user to create aLink login to its community but times out after 2 mins on the site. SLURPEE FAIL!

The result of this equation is that we have a really great "In-Store Campaign". This campaign does not exist online at all... but the consumer are talking about it on Twitter .. constantly. They are even trying their OWN Guerrilla marketing techniques to promote it AND they have unanswered customer service answers.

NO SURPRISE!!!

How is the average person online supposed to perceive 7-Eleven? I would write about how awful this website is for the user experience, but I get paid to do that for a living...

7-Eleven did you know this is how over 27,000 people see you on Facebook?I wonder what the Legal Department think about this?

Your "Official" Facebook Fanpage doesn't even have any information on the DOMO promotion or a Store Locater link.. If I am on Facebook and want to know what 7-Eleven's current Slurpee flavors are.. I damn right expect to find it!

7-Eleven... Because I love you...
Please get your online act together!!
Bring back the Slurpee ..
and give me free coffee
FOREVAH!
Thanks,
Stephiji

Capitalism: A Love Story or an Addiction ?

Capitalism: A Love Story, the new documentary by Michael Moore has completely changed my mind about "caring".
I have always been the person who KNOWS.. American culture is corrupt. Fine, whatever, I know, what do you want me to do about it? Just let me do my yoga and shut up.

Michael Moore really makes you think... What is going to happen if we just continue to ignore these issues? Can we really go on saying "Who knows how it will be for my great-great-grandchildren?" Isn't it THAT bad right now?

Another documentary that will really make you think about our culture and what is completely wrong with it is "The Business of Getting High" - Before you think... ahh not another pro marijuana debate. This is serious.

Can we just for one moment compare culturally creating an intense fear and stigma around a natural plant to completely legal drugs like Nicotine, liquor, and prescription pills?

I have been discussing these topics with people of all ages, and most reactions are the same. Some people are convinced that things will get better and the system will work out it's kinks, others have the "What can I do about it" attitude, and some people are just down right bitter.

It's really upsetting but maybe that is what they want..

Without Fear, Stress, and Anger the people would stop taking their daily medications, buying illegal drugs, and most importantly... People would STOP spending money.

hey.. didn't India's Space Research Organization just find water on the Moon? Do you think UHual goes there?

Writing Memoirs

Lately I have been thinking about writing my memoirs. Not sure yet whether it is egotistical of me to think that my life deserves a memoirs to be written about it... especially because I am not even a quarter into my life yet.

Comparing myself and my life to the great, Augusten Burroughs, of whom is one of the most brilliant non fiction writers, I do think people could be interested in reading about me.

Nevertheless, I could write a brilliant piece of work and this does not by any chance mean that my writing will be published, but maybe I will feel accomplished within myself?

Maybe it is kind of insane of me to compare my life to Augustens'. He was adopted by his mother's psychiatrist who had tried behavioral drugs out on him, he ran away to work at an ad agency in NYC, developed a substance abuse problem and continued to be troubled by his family and his life. My life is certainly not this troublesome.....yet still a good story.

Who would like to read about a girl who lived in a bubble until the age of 17 when she gave up on school and tried to make it in the music business, getting so close and have it all wiped away. She trained herself in her vocation and ended up moving up to one of the most respectable workplace positions in the industry all at the same time as having 3 life changing relationships and struggling constantly with inner demons. I think this might be a good read for some people.

Maybe I will start writing...
after all... I type pretty fast.

Casa - Regional Brazilian Home Cooking : Soho NYC

CASA in Soho, NYC is a Regional Brazilian Home Cooking Restaurant. This was my first time eating Brazilian style food and I was really excited. My boyfriend and his family are from Brazil, so for his mothers birthday, the family met at this restaurant in Soho.

Casa was packed, reservations only for this popular little spot. Parties over 5 people also must order from a Prix Fix menu. We had a party of 9, so this applied to us.

First we started with some drinks, Brazil is famous for their Caipirinha's which is like a rum drink that is traditionally in mint flavor. However I had the National cocktail of Brazil in a Passion fruit flavor.

Raph ordered some "Cheesy Balls" or Pao de Queijo for the table. This is a treat that I always see Raph eat but have never tried myself. This was DELICIOUS. It is like a fried ball of bitter cheddar. Soo yummy.

For my 1st Course, I ordered Yucca Sticks with Parmesan cheese. These sticks tasted like a healthier, more rich version of French Fries. They came with a spicy green sauce that was just the right amount of kick.

For my 2nd Course, I ordered the fish fillet with rice, beans, vegetables, and a sweet cooked banana. Anyone who knows me knows that I am very very particular about only eating bananas that are at Room temperature... but this was amazing!!! It was like dessert. It was dipped in sugar and cinnamon and then fried.

My overall thoughts on my first Brazilian dinner experience was great!! I am dreaming of going to Brazil and really have a full on experience. I had an amazing time at Casa and definitely recommend anyone interesting in eating there to go try it out.
